Attilio Pisarri and Francesco Ganassin began playing together at the Conservatorio di Rovigo. In 2011 they won the Premio delle Arti (Afam MIUR) in the Jazz category with the Eptagroove ensemble, a workshop of musical ideas and friendships.

The duo came about naturally, driven by a shared passion for research and for sound. Both are versatile musicians, educators, initiators of projects and researchers, and the sound of the duo reflects their human and intellectual depth even before their technical and compositional skill.

At its center is the unique, elegant sonority of the clarinet-guitar pairing, presented in settings ranging from jazz festivals to the lecture halls of the Philosophy department at Ca’ Foscari in Venice. In early 2020 they released Empty Rooms on Birdland Records, named after the concert they had long been bringing to venues across Italy. Chiaroscuro followed in 2023 on Ipogeo Records.
