DUALITY – Francesco Ganassin (clarinet, bass clarinet, sound objects, live electronics)
Duality has taken its form after the commission for a video/music art work for Urbs Picta, Padova’s nomination to Unesco World Heritage, and after the invitation to IF Festival by the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation (Canada).
Duality is a solo. Duality is a dialogue.
A dialogue between the serene woodiness of a clarinet and the trendsetting edgeness of live electronics, between the tradition of ancestral melodies and the invention of sound- art works featured in a concert, between music and any other expression.
Landscape, musician, audience, are all actors of a wide performative action.
In a theatre, in the woods, in a square, on stage or in a club, in a library or along a mountain path, Duality takes different site-specific and site-responsive forms.
